IPC – Association Connecting Electronics Industries® has announced the August findings from its monthly North American Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Statistical Program.
Rigid PCB shipments declined 27.4 percent and bookings were down 13.0 percent in August 2009 from August 2008. Year to date, rigid PCB shipments were down 28.7 percent and bookings fell by 26.9 percent. Compared to the previous month, rigid PCB shipments grew by 4.8 percent and rigid bookings increased 12.2 percent. The Maryland Transportation Authority has unveiled a toll plan for the Intercounty Connector under which passenger vehicles would pay as much as 35 cents a mile for travel on the highway when its first phase opens next year.

Washington, September 26 (ANI): Scientists have warned that increasingly powerful “supertyphoons” will strike Japan if global warming continues to affect weather patterns in the western Pacific Ocean.
According to a report in National Geographic News, supercomputer simulations show there will be more typhoons with winds of 179 miles (288 kilometers) per hour—considered an F3 on the five-level Fujita Scale—by 2074.
By definition, supertyphoons carry winds of at least 150 miles (241 kilometers) per hour.
